Our neighborhoods are designed to promote social interaction and independence.  These 5 neighborhoods have all the comforts of home.  The bedrooms are arranged around an intimate living room and memory boxes serve as markers to help resident identify their own rooms.  Residents dine with others from their neighborhood in a cozy, home-like setting, thus eliminating distractions and excessive stimulation of a large institutional dining room.  Outside courtyards allow residents to freely enjoy the outdoors in a secure setting.

People who have dementia need a different environment than those in assisted living or traditional nursing home care.  Arbor Springs has set the standard for dementia care by providing the appropriate social and physical environment – the right mix of medical care and security, while allowing for independence and a feeling of productivity for each individual for as long as possible.  

Within these neighborhoods we offer activities that promote self-esteem and self-worth, including music, art, home chores, exercise, sensory stimulation, hobbies, church services, gardening and pet therapy.
