“A Community of Connections” – Aspen

Over the last several years, Arbor Springs has received family care requests for loved ones who are in the early to moderate stages of dementia.  Some of these people were being cared for at home, others were in an assisted living or memory care facility which could no longer provide the level of care required, while others were simply not at a stage where they needed Arbor Springs advanced dementia care. 

To help families faced with this challenge, Arbor Springs created Aspen, A Community of Connections.  This neighborhood has been redesigned to meet the emotional, physical, and social needs of those residents in the early to moderate stages of a dementia related illness.

Aspen residents will enjoy a social environment that features special programming for interaction among its residents, staff, and the outside world.  Included in this special programming will be supervised outings for shopping and other social events and activities.  Aspen will also have its own computer work station allowing residents to have access to friends and family via the internet.

When the time comes and advanced dementia care is needed,   it will be a move within the Arbor Springs community maintaining all the familiarities of home.  There will be no additional rate changes or costs associated with moving from Aspen to another neighborhood within Arbor Springs.
